I am always on the lookout for a great foundation that keeps my skin looking fresh and natural. Bobbi Brown weightless foundation is long-wearing, humidity resistant and is breathable. I love that it also provides a natural matte finish. So far, I am happy with the results of the Bobbi Brown foundation and wanted to give it a review.
About Bobbi Brown
Bobbi Brown cosmetics are high quality and come in a great variety. The powders and eyeliners have been my favorite go to in the past and I have had good results. If you look at the bestsellers you will see a variety of products from eyeshadows and brow colors to mascara and bronzers. I have used many of her products in the past but not the foundation. I was excited to give it a try as I know the ingredients in her products help my skin.
Long Wearing Weightless Foundation
This is a 16-hour wear, full coverage foundation. It has a natural, multi-dimensional matte finish that’s comfortable, breathable, and weightless. It is created through a high-speed cold fusion process and features a balanced blend of skin-loving ingredients, oil controlling actives and true pigments. Sounds good to me.
The key features of the Bobbi Brown foundation include:
All Day Wear – The makeup is tested in extreme heat and humidity. The 16-hour formula is waterproof, sweat and humidity-resistant. That is important for those of us in high humidity Southern states.
Multi-dimensional Matte Coverage – The pigments are suspended in an emollient gel base so they float on the skin and reflect light. This helps conceal redness, discoloration and pores with a full coverage.
Second-Skin – The formula has marine sugar cane algae extract and natural mineral powders to help control excess oil and shine. Glycerin delivers refreshing hydration to keep the skin balanced.
The foundation is paraben-free, sulfate-free, has spf 15 and is dermatologist tested. It is also vegan-friendly and gluten-free. They indicate it is ideal for normal to oily skin, so I am not sure how well it would do for those with drier skin. I have combination skin and it worked fine on me.
This product is lightweight and easy to apply. The directions indicate to apply to clean, moisturized skin with a sponge or the brush of your choice. I found that a beauty blender was easier to use with this foundation. The consistency is thicker than some of the other foundations I have used but easy to blend into my skin. It felt moisturizing and did not dry out my skin. I did notice that it took awhile to absorb into my skin. I had to use a powder on top.
The color I chose was Warm Sand #2.5 and it was a good match for my skin. They have 30 shades so there is a nice selection to chose from. You can ask for help in picking your color via their chat feature. I just sent a picture of myself and they helped me pick which was nice.
The foundation did stay on all day. I have not used it on a super humid summer day yet since it is still spring here in GA. It did not streak or come off on me in 60-degree weather so it is doing well so far. I’m not sure how it will hold up in 90+ degree humidity that is normal here, but I am guessing it will do pretty well. I had mentioned above that it took a while to absorb into my skin and needed a powder. I wonder when it gets really hot if it will stay in place.
I am impressed that the Bobbi Brown weightless foundation is long wearing, humidity resistant, and breathable. There are lots of shades to choose from to meet the needs of many customers. Overall, it is a very nice quality foundation that makes your skin look better. It is definitely worth a try especially if you live in a high humidity area like me.
