Lenny & Larry’s protein cookies are one of the few protein treats I have found that actually tastes good.  I really try to watch my carb intake while increasing the amount of protein I eat.  The problem is that it is hard to find protein snacks that are tasty and I actually want to eat.  I am so glad I found Lenny & Larry’s cookies.

Lenny & Larry’s Story

The company was founded in 1993 by two guys that wanted to create tasty protein snacks.  Lenny & Larry’s complete cookie is the foundation of their company.  They have 11 flavors to choose from, but my tip is that the double chocolate is hands down the best.  The cookies are: baked, vegan, non-GMO, and Kosher.  That is pretty impressive.

Building on the cookies, they also have Muscle brownies and Muscle muffins.  These products are not vegan.  I tried the brownies and wasn’t in love.  They are a heavier consistency which is not my thing.

What’s inside?

I have tried several flavors including chocolate chip, double chocolate, and peanut butter.  By far the double chocolate chip is the tastiest.  It almost tastes as good as a bakery cookie and is better than any cookie I could make.  They are soft cookies and very big. The chocolate morsels are a good size too, which is important.

Key facts to help you make a decision (this is off the double chocolate cookie):

  • 16g protein (excellent)
  • 8g fiber
  • 0g trans fat
  • non-GMO, vegan, kosher, no soy, no dairy, no eggs
  • serving size per cookie, 2 🙁

Remember that 16 grams are 2 servings so it is 8g for 1/2 the cookie or one serving.  The calories for 1/2 cookie is 190 and carbs 27g (which is a little high for my liking).  I am really bummed that one cookie is 2 servings as I have a hard time controlling myself when I eat them…don’t judge me.

They have a lot of sales on their website, but the problem is the shipping cost is high. There are actually a lot more flavors available on their site.  They also have cool sweepstakes regularly on their site and social media pages. I usually don’t buy from the website.  Publix has them for around $2 a cookie and Walmart has a 4 pack for around $6.

I would highly recommend these cookies as a great on the go protein snack.  I really love the taste.  Well, I love it a little too much as I have to stop myself from eating the whole cookie in one sitting.   I am picky about aftertaste in foods and this cookie does not have one.  This is one treat I make sure to always have on hand.

Average Cost:

$1.69 – $3 per cookie

Lowest price found at Target and Walmart. The 4 pack from these stores is a good deal at around $6.

Where to buy:

Walmart, Target, most grocery stores.  You can also buy online from various sites including Amazon.
