Self confidence is an important part of how the world perceives us. When someone is self-assured and comfortable with themselves it really shines through. The perception is that they can handle most situations, which is very helpful when trying to succeed at a task.
Many people struggle with confidence issues. Think of when you were asked to answer a question in class or had to make a public speech. Some people get stressed and have difficulty handling those types of situations. Fear of failure is a major factor that causes people to be timid or lack confidence.
The important thing to remember is that you are able to do these things. You just need to remain calm and be positive in these situations. You will succeed!

When I was right out of college I had to travel to another state and do a presentation. I was terrified as I had never flown before and had no idea how to get to my flight. I drove to the airport, followed the signs and got on the plane. Once on the plane, I was proud of myself for figuring it out on my own.
Of course, then the nervousness kicked in on having to do a presentation in front of a lot of people. I remember going into the bathroom before the presentation, looking in the mirror and telling myself I could do it. Guess what? I did and it was not as big a deal as I made it out to be in my head. My coworkers were nice and they helped me along. I was not as alone as I thought I was. My self confidence wavered, but in the end I was successful. We can sometimes be our own worst enemy.
Becoming self confident doesn’t happen over-night. It will take practice and consistent effort. Try saying positive affirmations each day to help you. Also, make sure you have a quiet place to go to meditate or just to gather your thoughts. We all need quiet time away from the stresses of the world.
I hope these affirmations help you. If you know of other good ones, please leave them in the comments.
You are strong, confident and capable. You will succeed!
